I watched, “Everything Is Illuminated” the other night, and while I had seen it before I was struck by how amazing it is to be a “collector.” This got me thinking about my own life and what I am doing so that I can remember the experiences that I have had. I write a lot and I obviously take a lot of images, but in general I rarely have photos of myself. I don’t get the chance to take the self-indulgent portraits of myself the way I used to, which is on all accounts a good thing. I think there is a good balance though of starting to actually put myself back into photos, if just for the sake of remembering. I came across this one this morning. From our traveling Christmas party, featured is my good friend (and better designer) Marke and myself.
We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.
